Twitter Introduces Verified NFT Profile Pictures

Is this the end of right-click and save jokes?

Twitter anons no longer will be able to pose as a Punk or BAYC owner with someone else's NFT. The social media platform on Thursday launched a feature for Twitter Blue users to verify ownership of the NFT in their PFP.

Only Ethereum-based NFTs are currently supported, though a representative from Twitter suggested that could change to accommodate other blockchains.

By connecting an Ethereum wallet to a Twitter, users can select which NFT to use as their profile picture, which will be displayed to others with a new hexagon-shaped border as opposed to the standard circular enclosure.

Twitter's verification process is powered by NFT market OpenSea.
