Collins announced the award Wednesday in a blog post, defining NFT as "a unique digital certificate, registered in a blockchain, that is used to record ownership of an asset such as an artwork or a collectible."
The words "metaverse" and "crypto" also received shoutouts on the shortlist, as Collins acknowledged the emerging digital revolution that's changing our culture.
