NFT Wins 'Word Of Year' Award From Collins Dictionary

What a year it's been for NFTs. The mainstream interest of NFTs, crypto, and the metaverse have reached an all-time high.

Appropriately so, Collins Dictionary has made "NFT" its Word of the Year.

Collins announced the award Wednesday in a blog post, defining NFT as "a unique digital certificate, registered in a blockchain, that is used to record ownership of an asset such as an artwork or a collectible."

The words "metaverse" and "crypto" also received shoutouts on the shortlist, as Collins acknowledged the emerging digital revolution that's changing our culture.
