Brave Browser Announces Partnership With Solana
Brave, a popular privacy browser, announced a partnership with Solana on Monday at the Breakpoint conference in Lisbon.
Solana blockchain will be integrated into the Brave browser, making it default for DApp support for Brave's monthly 42 million active users and 1.3 million verified creators.
"With more and more users and creators requiring tools for fast and affordable access to the decentralized Web, this integration will seamlessly pave the way for the next billion crypto users to harness applications and tokens," said Brendan Eich, CEO and co-founder of Brave and Basic Attention Token (BAT), which Brave launched in May 2017.
Brave hopes to position itself as a standard for users to access Web3, and the partnership will make users feel more secure about crypto wallet hacks.
"For billions of people, the mobile web will be their gateway to Web3," Anatoly Yakovenko, CEO of Solana Labs, said about the partnership.
"Deep integration with browsers is key to helping DApps build the best web experiences. Brave's announcement of Solana wallet support across all versions of their browsers is an important step to onboard the next billion users to Solana."
The browser will continue to support Ethereum and has support plans for additional blockchains within Brave.
